The Cheese Market
of Alkmaar

Alkmaar is the Dutch Cheese City. In season (from the first Friday in April to the last Friday in September), the traditional cheese market is held here on Friday mornings from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. In the months of July and August, an additional cheese market takes place on Tuesday evenings, starting at 7 p.m.

Within fifteen minutes you drive from our hotel to the coast and the wonderful beach of Bergen aan Zee. The village is in the middle of the nature of the Boswachterij Schoorl and the Noord-Hollands Duinreservaat. Here you will find numerous recreational opportunities.

Egmond aan Zee

At 8 km is the lovely coastal town of Egmond aan Zee an old fishing village. If you want a day at the beach then this is definitely recommended. Egmond has a pleasant shopping street with nice terraces and eateries. The beach is wide and there is plenty of parking. You can also take a nice walk in the dunes. Egmond also has a lighthouse that is open to visitors at set times and the Egmond museum is also worth a visit.
